BREAKFAST AT SCHOOL. EL CARMEN SCHOOL

We have breakfast at home before coming to school but during the break time (from 12 to 12:30) we have a sandwich, juice, some biscuits... here.

SOME OF US EAT AT SCHOOL. EL CARMEN SCHOOL
Hello Orchard Hollow School,
We have been reading everything you did on Thanksgiving Day. It is very interesting we have the opportunity for learning all these things. We hope you find what we write interesting too!
Here you have some pictures of us eating at school. Not all the students eat here, some of them go home and they have lunch there. The children who stay, go to the dining room from 14 to 14:45 approximately. Later, they have some time to play in the playground before their parents come.
We have seen that in your school you can choose what you want to eat. Here we cannot choose, there is a different menu everyday and we cannot change it. This way we get used to eating everything, even the things we don't like. Today we have eaten soup and chickpeas were our second course. Our dessert was yoghurt.
As you can see, the organization of the tables is very similar to yours but we don't use trays.

Hello El Carmen School!
Last week we had three days off of school to celebrate Thanksgiving. We took some pictures at our celebrations to share our traditions with you.
We ate turkey, rolls, stuffing and brownies. We played a game before dinner and then we went outside to do a scavenger hunt. We were at my aunt's house.

Hello! We had breakfast at our friends house and watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on tv! Then we went to Kalahari. Kalahari is an indoor and outdoor waterpark.

Hello! I had Thanksgiving at my step-grandma's house. I ate stuffing, mashed potatoes and ham, turkey, rolls and pickles. I had pumpkin pie for dessert. I got dressed up. My shoes were sparkly.

I had Thanksgiving at my grandmas house. My mom and my two brothers and my sister were there. We ate turkey on Thanksgiving. I played football with my uncle and my two brothers before dinner. I won!

My family goes to the Wisconsin Dells every year for Thanksgiving. We have stuffing and turkey and mashed potatoes. We go to waterparks. My cousins and my grandpa and grandma come. I went on a treasure hunt.

We had turkey. We got to have a chocolate dessert and turtle pie and pumpkin pie and apple pie. When everyone left we set up the Christmas tree!

I was at my aunt's house with my family. I played zombie shooting with another boy. I ate my grandma's special corn bread and mashed potatoes.

Our Lunches
Hello El Carmen School,
At our school some of us pack and some of us buy. Packing means you brought your lunch from home and buying means you bought your lunch from the school. When you buy there are different choices each day. We have our lunchroom as part of the gym. Here is some pictures and videos of our lunches.

Halloween at Orchard Hollow
Hello El Carmen School!
For Halloween we did pumpkin experiments and we had a parade and a party. We counted the seeds, we weighed the pumpkin, we tried to blow it away and we saw if it would sink or float. We dressed up in costumes for the party. We ate chips and cupcakes and made a scary craft. Here are some pictures of our day.

HALLOWEEN 2015. EL CARMEN SCHOOL
Hello Orchard Hollow School,
We send you some pictures of us during the Halloween party we had at school. We dressed up as some scary things and we had a gymkhana where we played several games such as "Spider Web Walking", "Boo Bowling", "Halloween Secret Message", etc. We had to walk on a spiderweb, play bowling or build a Halloween sentence. At the end, each class received a certificate for the game they had won.
We had a Spooktacular Morning!

We are from Orchard Hollow Elementary School in Mentor, Ohio. We live near Lake Erie and the city of Cleveland, Ohio. There are 23 boys and girls in our first grade class.
We watched some videos on your other blog and noticed you have a fancy lunchroom! Our lunchroom is part of our gym and the tables have to be folded up and put away every day.
What kind of food do you eat at lunch? Does everyone eat the school lunch or do some people bring lunch from home?
